Shock-Wave Therapy

A non-invasive treatment for pain relief and healing sports and musculoskeletal injuries.

What is Shock-Wave Therapy?

At Canoe Chiropractic, we offer advanced Shock Wave Therapy, a state-of-the-art regenerative medicine technique that supports the body’s natural healing process. This non-invasive treatment is designed to relieve pain by targeting injured ligaments, tendons, and soft tissues, making it highly effective for treating sports-related and musculoskeletal injuries. Shock wave therapy promotes healing by stimulating the release of growth factors within injured tissues at the cellular level, allowing the body to repair itself naturally. Our experienced chiropractors use either focused shock wave therapy (FSWT) or radial shock wave therapy (RSWT) techniques, depending on each patient’s needs. During the procedure, a handheld device sends controlled shockwaves into the affected area, which increases blood flow, promotes new tissue growth, and effectively alleviates pain, especially in cases of tendinopathy. Each session lasts between 15 to 30 minutes, with treatment plans typically requiring three to six sessions. Mild discomfort, bruising, or redness may occur during and after the procedure, as these are normal responses to the treatment.
